Shimad Ibrahim has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) at State Trading Organization (STO).
The STO Board of Directors made the appointment on Tuesday upon Abdulla Saeed’s exit from the position as CEO and MD.
Ibrahim is a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) qualified Chartered Accountant. He has worked as a Senior Partner (Finance) at S&A Lawyers, Chief Financial Officer at Villa Shipping and Trading, Executive Director (Finance and Tax) at Villa Shipping and Trading, Head of Finance at Maldives Islamic Bank, Chief Finance Executive at Ministry of Finance and Treasury, Assistant Undersecretary at Ministry of Finance & Treasury, Director of the Board at Maldives Islamic Bank, Director of the Board at Maldives Energy Authority, Chairman of the Audit Committee at Maldives Tourism Development Corporation, Chairman of the Audit Committee at Thilafushi Corporation Limited, Director of the Board at Upper South Utilities Limited and, among others, Former member of National Debt Management Committee.
