A dead body was discovered inside a van parked near Hulhumalé Cemetery on Wednesday. According to a witness, the van had been parked at the location since the morning, but the body was only noticed in the afternoon.
The police identified the deceased as a male expatriate. They received a report of an unconscious person inside the van and, upon arrival, the individual was declared dead by Hulhumalé Hospital.
The police have not yet released further details about the deceased and are continuing their investigation into the incident.
In a related case earlier this week, the body of a 30-year-old Maldivian man was found in an apartment at Bandeyri Koshi in Male’. The police have decided to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, suspecting unusual circumstances.
