President Mohamed Muizzu has announced that 2025 will see the launch of significant development projects and the restoration of economic prosperity across the Maldives.
In his New Year’s Day message to the people, President Muizzu highlighted that the country will embark on a major development journey in 2025, with projects set to commence across multiple regions. He said that these initiatives aim to restore economic prosperity and bring general well-being to the entire nation.
The President outlined that the Maldives is now focused on achieving specific goals, guided by a clear roadmap designed to elevate the nation to the ranks of developed countries. This year marks the beginning of key projects that aim to secure a prosperous future for all Maldivians, he highlighted.
Reflecting on the tradition of New Year’s resolutions, President Muizzu said that these can be adopted at national, community, and individual levels. He noted that the government’s resolution is to serve the people with sincerity, fulfil promises, maintain trust, and remain close to citizens to find lasting solutions to challenges.
The President encouraged citizens to embrace positive thinking and prioritise peace and reconciliation as personal resolutions for the new year. Development and contentment are rooted in a society built on peace, respect, and affection, he outlined.
Concluding his message, President Muizzu called for unity and urged everyone to work together toward national development and prosperity. He stressed that 2025 will be a year of nation-building for the future of the Maldivian people, President Muizzu highlighted.
