The Public Service Media (PSM) has apologised and suspended two employees following the broadcast of a nude scene during an English news segment aired on Tuesday.

In a press release, PSM described the incident as a serious breach of its content and editorial policies.

The state broadcaster said two employees had been suspended after an internal investigation, with the matter now referred to a company committee for further review and action.

“To prevent such incidents, the standard operating procedures (SOPs) across various departments are being revised,” PSM said in its statement.

This marks the second high-profile lapse at PSM in recent weeks. Last week, the broadcaster faced backlash after omitting a word from a Quranic verse during a live broadcast. The omission, which the broadcaster said occurred while switching signals between control rooms, was attributed to negligence.

Several employees were suspended in connection with the Quranic error, and the broadcaster issued a public apology. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

PSM said it is committed to strengthening internal policies and ensuring such errors do not recur.
