Around 92,292 tourists from China have visited the Maldives as of last Monday, according to data by the Ministry of Tourism.
A total of 830,665 tourists—an increase of 11.8 percent over the same period last year—arrived in the Maldives during the period, of which 11.1 percent were from China.
Russia, the second largest tourist market, accounted for 84,055 tourists, followed by the UK in third with 79,507, Italy in fourth with 73,214, and Germany in fifth with 65,198 tourists.
India, the top tourism market last year, accounted for 46,970 tourists so far.
Other large tourism markets for the Maldives include France, the US, Switzerland and Poland.
