National carrier Maldivian has announced an increase in its flights to Trivandrum, India, in response to growing demand. Starting 22 July, the airline will operate flights between Malé and Trivandrum every Monday, bringing the total to five per week.
“We are excited to announce additional flights to Trivandrum from Malé starting 22 July,” the airline said in a post to X. “This additional return flight operates every Monday via this route.”
Thiruvananthapuram, also known as Trivandrum, has long been a favoured destination for Maldivians, particularly those seeking medical treatment. The city’s advanced healthcare facilities and proximity make it a preferred choice for medical tourism.
In addition to Thiruvananthapuram, Maldivian offers flights to Bangalore and Kochi in India and Colombo, Sri Lanka.
