The Maldives will look to further strengthen bilateral relations with China, President Muizzu has said.
The President met with Chinese First Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang on the sidelines of the COP28 summit in Dubai, where he expressed his hope to further strengthen relations between the Maldives and China, noting that Beijing was one of the Maldives’ most important development partners. The President further expressed hope that China’s assistance to the Maldives’ development and progress would continue to expand.
Ding, while he congratulated President Muizzu on his assumption of office, said that China would provide assistance and cooperation to the Maldives in various fields and would look to further strengthen bilateral relations with the Maldives during the Muizzu administration, also assuring the President that China would always maintain strong relations with the Maldives.
