Israel has killed at least 40 Palestinians and injured 224 others in a series of intense attacks across Gaza in the past 24-hour period.

In one of the attacks, Israeli forces targeted a water distribution point in Gaza City, killing four members of the al-Ghazi family, including a child.

The United Nations has raised alarms over the massive displacement caused by the renewed Israeli ground offensive. UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric disclosed that operations in Gaza City’s Shujayea neighbourhood forced at least 60,000 residents to flee their homes. Similarly, military actions in the al-Mawasi area of southern Gaza have displaced 5,000 people, with numerous casualties reported.

Since 7 October, Israel has killed at least 37,834 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and wounded 86,858 in Gaza.

Israeli soldiers also conducted a raid in Silwad, a town east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. Two Palestinians were detained in the raid.

Another military raid took place in Qusra, near Nablus. This operation did not result in any injuries or detentions.
