State Trading Organization (STO) and Japanese power tools manufacturer Makita celebrated the 25th anniversary of their partnership with a ceremony held at Kurumba Maldives Resort.

The event was attended by Japanese Ambassador to Maldives Ishigami Rumiko, STO Managing Director and CEO Shimad Ibrahim, and Makita Director, Corporate Officer, International Sales Headquarters Omote Takashi.

A special experience zone was set up to showcase Makita’s new tools, giving attendees the chance to learn about and try the equipment.

STO Construction Solutions Director Mohamed Eman highlighted the strong relationship between STO and Makita over the past 25 years, thanking customers for their continued support. A plaque of recognition was presented to long-standing partners and major clients, including Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL), Housing Development Corporation (HDC), State Electric Company (Stelco), Maldives Ports Ltd (MPL), Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), Universal Enterprises, Hawks Pvt Ltd, Alia Constructions Pvt Ltd and SJ Constructions Pvt Ltd.

Ambassador Ishigami and Omote Takashi praised the partnership’s contribution to the construction sector in Maldives. Ishigami noted that the collaboration has also strengthened ties between Japan and Maldives.
