There will not be a single Malé citizen whose housing problem will not be solved by the end of his five-year term, President Mohamed Muizzu has assured. The President made the commitment during a political event in the city.
Muizzu said the housing problem was the biggest issue facing Malé and that he has not wasted a single day since taking office in addressing the problem. The President said that Gulfhifalhu, Hulhumalé, Giraavau and Ras Malé are being reclaimed to solve the problem and that there will be no one in Malé whose housing problem will not be solved with the administration’s housing projects.
Reiterating the government’s vision for housing, the President said the loans with a five percent interest rate would facilitate the construction of houses in these areas.
The beneficiaries of housing plots from these four lands will soon have the opportunity to build houses there. The result will be something I always give 100 percent assurance of. The same assurance will be given tonight. There will be no one in Malé whose housing problem will not be solved.
