Four suspects have been arrested in connection with a violent altercation between two rival gangs in Hithadhoo of Addu City, where a 30-year-old man was stabbed and is currently undergoing treatment for life-threatening injuries at Equatorial Hospital in Addu City.

The suspects, all men aged 18, 19, 20 and 23, were arrested under a court order.

In a another incident in Addu City, a 20-year-old was attacked with a sharp object on Sunday afternoon. He is now being treated at Equatorial Hospital, and the severity of his injuries remains unclear.

The Police have launched a special operation to address and investigate the rise in gang violence in recent weeks.

While no one has been seriously injured, similar instances of altercations have gained frequency in Malé as well in recent weeks, leading to the arrest of three youths.
