The administration on Thursday confirmed that all Indian military personnel in the Maldives have now been repatriated under the agreement with India.

The administration’s Chief Spokesperson Heena Waleed confirmed that all India military personnel have now withdrawn from the Maldives.

The administration, however, did not confirm the number of troops that left on Thursday, even though Waleed had earlier stated that the withdrawal of a total of 51 personnel would take place in two contingents. Waleed did confirm that helicopter pilots stationed at Addu and Dornier pilots stationed at Hanimaadhoo were part of the contingent that left on Thursday.

The administration had earlier said that there were 88 Indian military personnel in the Maldives.
