The Ooredoo Nation Gamer’s Land Festival, the largest e-gaming event held in Maldives, began in Hulhumalé on Thursday. With more than 350 gamers participating, the festival, which runs throughout the weekend, will feature the Ooredoo Nation PUBG Mobile Grand final, cosplays, FC24, a racing SIM challenge, and a Tekken tournament.
The festival was officially launched by Maldives Olympic Committee Secretary General Thamooh Ahmed Saeed, Ooredoo Maldives Chief Technology Officer Bassam Al-Momani and Ooredoo Maldives Chief Commercial Officer Hussain Niyaz.
The gaming festival will offer cash prizes to the winners and feature fun and exciting experiences for gamers of all ages. The cash prizes for the winners of various events total MVR 185,000.
The winners of the PUBG finals will receive a total of MVR 89,000, while prize pools for other events were listed as; MVR 40,000 for EAFC (FIFA), MVR 25,000 for the Racing SIM Challenge, MVR 10,000 for Tekken, and MVR 10,000 total for cosplaying.
Visitors to the festival can be entertained by claw machines as well as VR gaming in-between watching contestants battle it out in their various competitions.
