Maldivian, the national airline, has commenced scheduled seaplane service to Baa Atoll, with two weekly flights.

Island Aviation, which manages Maldivian, said the flights will be operated every Thursday and Saturday from Velana International Airport to Fulhadhoo, Goidhoo, and Fehendhoo. The service commenced on Monday, coinciding with the Eid holidays, and the carrier has since operated two fully booked flights.

The airline is operating De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 300 seaplanes on the route. A one-way journey costs MVR 1,099 per person, and the flight time is approximately 25 minutes.

Maldivian has a fleet of 11 De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 300 seaplanes, each configured to accommodate 15 passengers. These aircraft are ideal for inter-island travel, providing direct access to numerous resort islands without the need for traditional runways.
