Hussain Fahmy has been appointed Managing Director (MD) at State Electric Company (STELCO). Fahmy first joined STELCO in 1998 as an account assistant trainee.
Fahmy, who has spent 25 years at the state-owned company, confirmed that the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) had informed him of his appointment.
Ahmed Shareef had been the previous MD at STELCO.
President Muizzu has been submitting new appointments for approval by the PCB since he took office on 17 November.
