Ahmed Saruvash Adam, Chief Financial Budget Executive at the Ministry of Finance, who is chiefly responsible for the formulation of the national annual budget, has resigned. Adam, who had worked at the Ministry of Finance for over eight years, confirmed his resignation to local media.
“It feels like the right time to go into another area where I can be more productive and serve,” he was quoted saying.
Adam confirmed he had given his notice and as such would serve out the one month before his resignation becomes official.
Adam has, since 2016, overseen annual national budget formulations over the last two administrations.
During his tenure at the ministry, he has also served as Chair of Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) and as a board member at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).
