Hot on the heels of Microsoft’s announcement of its first Copilot+ PCs powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite and Plus processors, Intel has unveiled its upcoming Lunar Lake client processors. These chips are designed to drive the next generation of AI-powered personal computers starting from the third quarter of 2024.
Intel’s Lunar Lake processors promise to revolutionise the AI PC market, with over 80 designs already in the works from more than 20 original equipment manufacturers. This strategic move aims to offer a strong competitive edge against the newly announced Snapdragon-powered PCs by Microsoft, Dell, Lenovo, and Asus.
The unveiling sets the stage for an exciting year in personal computing, as both tech giants push the boundaries of performance and AI integration.
Earlier, Microsoft introduced its first Copilot+ branded PCs, featuring Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus chips. This new lineup promises enhanced performance and efficiency, marking a significant step in the evolution of personal computing.
Joining Microsoft in this announcement, leading PC manufacturers such as Dell, Lenovo, and Asus have also revealed their own models utilising the same advanced chipsets. These new machines are poised to bring a boost in processing power and energy efficiency to the market.
While some models are already available for pre-order, the majority will hit the shelves in key markets like the US starting June 18. The starting price for these high-performance PCs is set at US$999, offering consumers a range of options to experience the latest in computing technology.
