President Mohamed Muizzu on Thursday appointed close aides to key executive positions at the President’s Office.
Abdul Raheem Abdulla, Director General of Transition and Chairman of the People’s National Congress (PNC), was appointed as the Special Advisor to the President. Other appointments include five ministers, three principal secretaries, three secretaries, advisors on trade and tourism, as well as the positions of the National Security Advisor and the Chief of Staff.

Minister at the President’s Office – Abdulla Nasir
Minister at the President’s Office – Adam Rameez
Minister at the President’s Office for Strategic Communications – Ibrahim Khaleel
Minister at the President’s Office for Legal Affairs – Uz Ahmed Hisham Wajeeh
National Security Advisor – Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Ibrahim Latheef
Principal Secretary to the President on Foreign Relations – Mohamed Naseer
Principal Secretary to the President on Cabinet Affairs – Ahmed Ali Habeeb
Principal Secretary to the President on Corporate Development – Mohamed Shahid
Secretary to the President on Corporate Services – Hussain Amir
Secretary to the President on Legal Affairs – Uz Abbas Shareef
Secretary to the President on Public Policy – Dr Aishath Ikram
Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment – Mohamed Ali Janah
Advisor to the President on Tourism Development – Mohamed Khaleel
The Principal Advisor to the President on Trade and Investment and the Advisor to the President on Tourism Development are positions appointed without remuneration, according to the President’s Office.
The president made additional appointments, including Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed as the Ambassador-at-Large for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mohamed Shahudy as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
