A Bangladeshi man has been rescued from a house in the Maldivian capital following reports of unlawful detention, police said Thursday.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the case was reported at around 6:00 a.m. and involved a man allegedly being held against his will in a residence in Malé.
Police officers forced entry into the house by breaking the lock and evacuated the man, who was subsequently taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for a medical examination.
Authorities confirmed the man had no visible external injuries. No further information was released, and the case remains under investigation.
