Minister of State at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure, Akram Kamaludeen, has said that the work on Ameenee Magu will be completed before the change of government on 17 November.

Speaking with local media, Kamaludeen stated that the work had been postponed due to the elections, and they were now in discussions to resume and complete pending work.

The state-owned Road Development Corporation (RDC) began construction of the road on 30 August last year, with the MVR 84 million project originally scheduled for completion within 210 days. The deadline expired on 28 May this year. While Kamaludeen has recommitted to completing the work before the government handover on 17 November, the government had earlier committed to finish the project by 27 September.

Work on the project currently remains far from complete.
