The Maldives and Azerbaijan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at further enhancing relations between the two countries. The MoU was signed on Friday at a ceremony held on the sidelines of the ongoing Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The primary objective of the MoU is to foster closer ties and expand cooperation between the Maldives and Azerbaijan. It seeks to establish a framework for regular consultations at all levels on matters of mutual interest. The agreement also aims to facilitate collaboration in the training of diplomats.

As the Maldives and Azerbaijan share common aspirations for stability, sustainable development, and economic growth, the newly signed agreement is expected to pave the way for increased collaboration in other areas.
