The nation tops the ‘World’s Travel Bucket List,’ based on Google search instances, including those from the United States of America (U.S.), Canada, Brazil, Argentina, and Australia. Other destinations on the list include the United States, France, and Iceland.
The Maldives is hugely popular among travellers from Russia, India, China, the UK, France, and the U.S.
In 2023 thus far, 1.2 million tourists have visited the Maldives, with the tourism sector aiming to welcome 1.9 million tourists by the end of the year. Travel to the country traditionally sees a significant uptick towards the end of the year, with the nation receiving an average of more than 4,000 tourists a day.
