MAPS College and the Maldivian Blood Services (MBS) have joined hands to organise a special blood donation camp at the MBS headquarters, Majeedhee Magu on 24 June.
The camp, which will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., presents an opportunity for interested and eligible individuals to make a valuable blood donation. This initiative marks the first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) endeavour of its kind undertaken by MAPS College.
MAPS College says it aims to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation through this camp, with a special focus on benefitting thalassemia children and individuals in need of blood. Both regular donors and those donating blood for the first time are welcome to contribute. MBS will conduct necessary tests to ensure a safe and effective donation process for first-time donors.
In addition to promoting blood donation, MAPS College intends to instill a sense of responsibility and awareness among its students. The college acknowledges that its students will play a crucial role in future social initiatives and aims to foster empathy and active engagement. Blood donation is viewed as the ultimate act of humanitarian aid, capable of saving lives. The college invites the general public to participate in this noble and charitable event.
The organisers say interested individuals can register for the blood donation camp until 20 June by visiting the link and may contact MAPS College at 3314621 for additional information and inquiries.
