The Maldives Meteorological Service has issued a weather advisory, warning of severe weather conditions expected to affect the country from Monday.
In a statement released Saturday, the Met Office said strong winds and rough seas are expected to persist for the next five days, with winds ranging between 13 and 23 mph and gusts reaching up to 45 mph.
The advisory also notes the possibility of rainfall in some parts of the country.
With many people having travelled during the Eid holidays, the Met Office urged the public, particularly seafarers, to take necessary precautions. The official Eid holidays conclude on Monday.
The agency advises the public to follow official bulletins for weather updates.
