The People’s National Front (PNF)’s interim President Zeine Abdulla Yameen, son of former president Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has said that the change that President Mohamed Muizzu has brought has not been positive.
Speaking to local media subsequent to PNF’s inaugural rally, Zeine said that, while the formation of political parties is a right, the Muizzu administration had blocked their first attempt to hold the meeting even with the permission of the Elections Commission (EC).
The people will now understand who pushed out whom, Zeine said, adding that he wondered what hatred the administration harboured against Yameen and that, while the administration cloaked themselves in respectability, they have done nothing but thrust hardships on PNF members.
“I don’t believe this is a good change,” Zeine said.
Zeine said the PNF would be an inclusive party and would not exclude anyone.
There are many who have split from the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and joined the PNF, which was formed under the guidance and blessing of former president Yameen.
