The Parliament Secretariat has officially launched a consultation period for the new electronic petition (e-petition) system, developed in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Starting Monday, members of the public are invited to submit their feedback on the policy paper outlining the new system.

Submissions can be made via email to the Petition Committee, through a dedicated link provided by the Secretariat, or by utilising an online form. The consultation window is set to close at 12 p.m. on 29 April.

In addition to the online consultation, a briefing for government bodies, political organisations, and civil society groups is scheduled for 10 a.m. on 24 April. This session aims to offer an in-depth look at the e-petition system as detailed in the policy paper. A subsequent public meeting is slated for 4 p.m. on 26 April, enabling direct dialogue between the Parliament Secretariat and the populace.

The Parliament Secretariat has made a summary of the e-petition policy available for review, accessible via a provided link. This move towards digital engagement reflects a growing trend in modern governance, seeking to streamline public participation in the legislative process through technological means.
