State Trading Organization (STO) and Japan’s Hitachi marked the 25th anniversary of their partnership at a ceremony in Male on Saturday.

Japanese Ambassador to Maldives Ishigami Rumiko attended the event, along with Hitachi’s managing director and senior company officials. STO chairman Amir Mansoor, managing director Shimad Ibrahim, board members, and former senior executives were also present.

The ceremony included a display of Hitachi products sold in Maldives. STO presented awards to four customers who recorded the highest volume of Hitachi purchases over the 25-year partnership.

Hitachi introduced its new Hitachi New Air product range during the event.

STO said the anniversary marked a strong, long-term relationship between the two companies and a step towards deeper cooperation.

Hitachi, founded more than a century ago, maintains a strong presence in Maldives through trusted products with sustained demand.
