Report cards were distributed to students who completed the first semester of the academic year across all schools in the Maldives on Thursday.
The second semester is scheduled to begin on 6 October, having been moved to the end of the year to align the academic calendar with the Gregorian year.
According to the Ministry of Education, approximately 40,300 girls and 42,700 boys enrolled in schools this year, with around 83,000 students studying in government schools nationwide.
In the capital Malé region, approximately 17,000 students are attending government schools, according to the ministry.
