Israeli forces on Sunday night bombed a tent camp in al-Mawasi, a designated safe zone in western Rafah. The air raid targeted tents housing displaced Palestinians. The Gaza Health Ministry reported 46 people killed and 110 injured across Gaza in the past 24 hours.

The southern city of Rafah has been particularly hard-hit, as Israeli military operations intensify attacks across Gaza.

In the al-Faluja area west of Jabalia camp, civilians who had just returned after Israeli forces withdrew were again subjected to bombings, resulting in multiple casualties. Further strikes west of Rafah have killed seven people and wounded dozens more.

The Kuwait Specialty Hospital, one of the last operational hospitals in Rafah, has been forced to shut down due to continuous Israeli attacks. The remaining injured and dead are being taken to the International Medical Corps field hospital, which is struggling to cope with the influx of casualties.

Meanwhile, South Africa has condemned the Israeli attack on the Rafah camp, joining a growing list of nations expressing concern over the humanitarian impact of the conflict.

Since its start of its war on Gaza, Israel has killed at least 36,096 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and wounded 81,136 others.
