Ibrahim Hameed, the President of the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives (BBAM), has been elected as the President of the South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (SABPF) during the SABPF Congress held in the Maldives on Friday.
The congress, held alongside the ongoing 14th South Asian Bodybuilding Championship, was attended by Paul Chua, the President of the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (ABBF) and President of the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF).
This appointment adds to Hameed’s extensive experience in bodybuilding and sports administration. He is currently serving as the President of BBAM for a third consecutive term. Hameed had previously held the position of Executive Vice President of the ABBF and, in 2022, served as Vice President of the WBPF.
In addition to his roles within various bodybuilding organisations, Hameed is also a member of the steering committee of the Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC). His contributions extend beyond administrative duties, as he is recognised as an international-level bodybuilding judge. Hameed recently showcased his judging expertise at the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam.
