The national carrier Maldivian will inaugurate scheduled flights between Malé and Bengaluru, India, starting 30 October. Bengaluru remains a popular destination among Maldivians for medical travel as well as education.

Bookings for Bengaluru flights, scheduled for every Monday and Thursday, are now available and will expand international routes, offering more convenience to the public, the national carrier said.

The airline currently flies to two destinations in India, Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, and had, until 2021, also flown to Delhi.

The national carrier, which operates Airbus A320 aircraft on its international routes, is currently looking to expand its fleet.

In addition to flights to Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Bengaluru, Maldivian also flies internationally to Dhaka, Bangladesh.
