Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts, one of Sri Lanka’s leading hotel chains, has announced the appointment of Vijai Singh as Area Vice President for its Maldives Resort Portfolio. In his newly appointed role, Singh will be responsible for improving business efficiency and operational execution across the hotelier’s all four Maldives resorts.
With his return to the Maldives, Singh is coming home in a sense. Bringing with him a wealth of expertise and acumen gained from his extensive 27-year career in luxury tourism and hospitality, Vijai Singh has worked with global hospitality brands such as IHG Hotels & Resorts, Taj Hotels & Resorts, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, among others. Throughout his career, Singh has held multiple senior leadership positions, including General Manager, Vice President of Operations, and Business Unit Head.
Singh has been recognised with international awards, including being named one of the Top 100 General Managers in the world by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards and the Most Valuable General Manager in 2022 by the International GM Awards.
