Samsung Partners With Korean Artists for ‘Galaxy Z’ Accessories
Samsung’s recent collaborations with the artists Haydonna, Yeseul O, and Lee Eun will see stylish cases for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
Samsung has unveiled two new mobile accessories for their new Galaxy Z series, featuring the vibrant artwork of promising emerging Korean artists. The collection released on 11 August includes one case each for the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 and will be available through the Samsung e-Store in 11 countries worldwide.
The electronics juggernaut collaborated with up-and-coming Korean artists with a global following — Haydonna, Yeseul O and Lee Eun — to create a distinctive way for their customers to make a style statement through their new Galaxy Z series devices. The artists showcase their colourful artistic perspectives and capture the positive voices of the younger generation, the company said.
Haydonna, known for her dynamic graphics and cheerful style, contributes to the Galaxy Z Fold5 case, incorporating her signature “Fluffy Friends” characters. Yeseul O, who creates original art using 3D, augmented reality (AR) and metaverse elements, and Lee Eun, known for her delightful paintings using vibrant colours, each collaborated on a Galaxy Z Flip5 case. Yeseul O expresses the value of life’s small pleasures through her distinctive character “Metabun_ny,” while artist Lee Eun incorporates messages of encouragement for people into her designs.
For the Galaxy Z Flip5, Yeseul O and Lee Eun’s artworks are recreated as animated designs using near-field communication (NFC) technology, providing users with a fresh, immersive, experience. Upon inserting the “Flipsuit card” with NFC technology into the case, the image of the card is displayed as an animation on the Flex Window of the Galaxy Z Flip5’s external screen.
Samsung’s collaboration with the artists in the design of the Galaxy Z series accessories aligns with their emerging concept of “Wholesomeness” which aims to spread positivity through messages, kindness, empathy and inclusiveness.
