The Defence Ministry has held a two-day roundtable event titled “United for a Peaceful and Resilient Maldives.” The forum, officially inaugurated by Defence Minister Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon, aimed to promote collaboration, enhance policy solutions, and exchange knowledge on counter-terrorism strategies.
The roundtable discussion, centred around peace and security, brought together senior executives from the Defence Ministry and various stakeholders. Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem and senior executives from the Homeland Security Ministry, Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) participated in the forum.
According to the Defence Ministry, discussions revolved around effective counter-terrorism measures, intelligence cooperation, and best practices. The forum also sought to strengthen collaboration with the international community and address community engagement, the ministry said.
