Police have arrested four people in connection with the assault on the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Maradhoo constituency, Ibrahim Shareef.
A 27-year-old and three 24-year-olds were arrested in connection with the case.
While the 27-year-old and two of the 24-year-olds were remanded for 60 days, one 24-year-old was remanded for 30 days.
Shareef was attacked inside the Manhattan Business Hotel while voting was continuing in the second round of the presidential election on Saturday.
In a similar incident, the police are also investigating an attack on the MP for Feydhoo constituency Mohamed Nihad while at a polling station.
Both MPs belong to the Maldives Democratic Party (MDP).
