The Maldives and Kazakhstan have signed an agreement of technological cooperation.

The Maldives’ Minister of State at the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology, Mohamed Kinaanath, and Kazakhstan’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Zhaslan Madiyev, signed the agreement on behalf of the respective nations.

Meanwhile, the Maldives’ Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau, speaking at the Police Service Day celebrations, said that the police would be more capable of investigating serious crimes in the country by allowing the use of AI to prevent crime before it occurs.

The Mohamed Muizzu administration has been strengthening bilateral relations with many nations, seeking better opportunities for the Maldives. The nation had previously inked a water and sewerage development agreement with Türkiye, while a Chinese company is to move forward with the modernising of Malé’s roads.
