The Maldives will look to attract 2.4 million tourists next year, Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal has revealed while speaking with state media. “Next year holds a brighter future for the Maldives,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Budget 2025 estimates that 2.2 million tourists will visit the country next year.

While underscoring that the number of tourists visiting the country from major tourism markets has increased, Faisal said the aim now is to promote the industry in new markets and increase visitor numbers for next year.

With around 1.8 million tourists welcomed so far, over two million are expected to visit the Maldives by the end of 2024.
