A 36-year-old woman is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with severe injuries after her motorcycle collided with a cat crossing the road in Fuvahmulah, Gnaviyani Atoll. The details surrounding the accident which occurred last night remain unclear.
According to a spokesperson from Fuvahmulah Hospital, the woman sustained a head injury in the incident. She is currently receiving treatment in the ICU and her condition is reported to be stable.
“We are closely monitoring her progress and doing everything we can to ensure her well-being,” stated the hospital official. “Due to the nature of her injury, we are making arrangements to transfer her to the capital Male’ this afternoon for further specialised care.”
The woman’s 12-year-old son was also on the motorcycle at the time of the incident; however, the child did not suffer any serious injuries, according to Fuvahmulah Hospital.
