Adam Naseem (Adam) and Ismail Sajid (Kuda Kaatte) have continued their impressive run in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Men’s Beach Volleyball Tour in Bangladesh, securing their spot in the quarter-finals after an unforgettable performance in the group stage.
Adam and Kuda Kaatte left the opponents in the dust on the sandy courts of Kolatoli Sea Beach in Cox’s Bazar. In their opening match on Wednesday morning, they squared off against Sonam Tenzin and Ram Badr of Bhutan. They emerged victorious in straight sets, triumphing with scores of 21-5 and 21-8.
Their stellar form continued into the second match when they faced off against the local favorites, Bangladesh’s Mansoor and Shahjahan. The Maldivian pair seized control of the game, ultimately prevailing with a scoreline of 21-13 and 21-1.
However, the highlight of their group stage campaign came in the third match, where they took on India’s Rama Dhawaskar and Nitin Sawant. Despite facing a more formidable opponent, Adam and Kuda Kaatte maintained their composure and outclassed their Indian counterparts with scores of 21-18 and 21-1.
This remarkable feat is not new to Adam and Kuda Kaatte, as they also swept through all their matches at last year’s Cava Beach Volleyball Tour. They managed to secure the championship title in the previous edition of the tournament under the guidance of Brazilian coach Vinicius Martins. This year, the team is guided by former player Shiunaz Abdul Wahid (Manke).
