The National Badminton Team departs for Mauritius to participate in the Mauritius International Badminton Tournament, scheduled to take place from 20 July to 23 July.
The tournament, categorised as an international series event, holds particular importance for the Maldivian players as they gear up for the upcoming Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) in Madagascar next month. It presents a valuable opportunity for the athletes to gain invaluable experience and sharpen their skills.
Under the guidance of an experienced South Korean coach, the team has been undergoing rigorous training ahead of the tournament.
Hussein Zayan Shaheed Zaki, Nibal Ahmed, Ahmed Thoif Mohamed, and Mohamed Ajfan Rashid make up the men’s team representing the Maldives in the Mauritius International.
The women’s team includes Fatimath Nabaaha Abdul Razzaq, Aminath Nabeeha Abdul Razzaq, Aishath Afnaan Rasheed, Maisa Fathuhulla Ismail, and Aminath Shahurunaz.
The Maldives team has performed well in previous editions of the Mauritius International, securing numerous trophies over the years.
