Bank of Maldives (BML) has launched its first-ever US-dollar ATM services outside Malé City. The ATM has been installed at Maafushi Island in Kaafu Atoll, a hub for guesthouse tourism with a high visitor footfall. The new service is expected to offer convenience to tourists, guesthouse operators, and residents alike.

The newly installed US dollar ATM, located at BML’s Maafushi Branch, will support individuals and businesses to withdraw and deposit US dollars coveniently, according to the bank. This service caters to the growing demand for USD transactions on the island and is anticipated to stimulate the local economy by providing crucial financial services to the Maafushi community.

Moosa Nimal, the Director of Retail, Business, and SME Banking at BML, expressed his delight at introducing the first USD ATM in Maafushi. He underscored the bank’s unwavering commitment to providing round-the-clock banking services to individuals and businesses, acknowledging the island’s economic expansion and the growing need for USD transactions.

In conjunction with the ATM installation, BML has broadened its service offerings at the Maafushi Branch. The branch now provides a comprehensive suite of banking solutions, including but not limited to US$ deposits and withdrawals, loan applications, financing services, cheque deposits, statement issuance, and currency exchange. The branch has evolved into a fully operational facility, offering a complete array of financial services tailored to the needs of the local community, the bank said.
