The Maldives government, in collaboration with the British High Commission, has hosted a two-day workshop aimed at enhancing national emergency response coordination. The Enhancing National Emergency Response Coordination Arrangements in Maldives workshop took place from 4 to 5 November 2024 in Male’.
“The primary objective of this workshop was to enhance the collaborative efforts during a multiagency response when handling major incidents of national concern including major disasters and terrorism, with the goal to strengthen existing mechanisms of communication and coordination across the government,” the President’s Office said in statement.
The workshop focused on enhancing the country’s response to national emergencies by improving coordination across various sectors. It brought together 13 government ministries and agencies, with UK-based experts facilitating the sessions.
