Former National Football Team manager Ali Waheed (Balak) has officially launched Atolls Football Club (FC), unveiling a long-term plan aimed at revolutionising Maldivian football.

Atolls FC was formally introduced to the public at a special event held at Hiriya School on Thursday night, which was attended by former and current football players.

At the event, Ali Waheed shared Atolls FC’s ambitious plans, which entail establishing the club’s branches on every island across the country within three years, nurture the next generation of talented footballers who will join the national team within the next 15 years, winning the Maldivian championship within the next five years, and ultimately aiming to clinch the AFC Cup within a decade. Their ultimate aspiration is to see the Maldives qualify for the FIFA World Cup within 20 years.

Ali Waheed’s previously worked as manager of New Radiant Sports Club and the national football team. He later took on the role of chairman at New Radiant.
