Kalaafaanu School emerged victorious in this year’s highly anticipated under-13 Inter-school Football tournament, securing a resounding 3-0 victory over Ahmadhiyya International School in the final. The tournament featured 36 participating schools.
Having reached the finals of both the FAM Inter-school Under-15 and Under-17 tournaments earlier this year, Kalaafaanu School was determined to claim the Under-13 title. They fell short in the Under-15 final against Iskandhar School and previously lost to Rehendhi School in the Under-17 final.
From the opening seconds of the final match, Kalaafaanu School displayed their dominance on the field. In a stunning display of skill, Ehan Ibrahim scored the first goal of the match just seven seconds in, setting the tone for their remarkable performance. Towards the end of the game, the team extended their lead with two more goals, netted by captain Hussain Ilham Ibrahim and Mohammed Nasham Niaz.
What makes Kalaafaanu School’s victory even more impressive is their impeccable defensive record throughout the tournament. They emerged as champions without conceding a single goal in the six matches they played. Moreover, their attacking prowess was equally remarkable, as they netted an impressive total of 32 goals during the tournament.
In recognition of his exceptional skills and contributions to the team’s success, Kalaafaanu captain Hussein Ilham was awarded both the tournament’s Best Player and Top Scorer accolades.
Not only did the players excel, but the coaching staff of Kalaafaanu School also garnered recognition. Coach Farid Mohammed (Faritte) was named the Best Coach of the tournament.
In addition to individual accolades, the tournament also recognised Majeediyya School as the fair-play team of the competition.
