The Maldives secured the bronze medal in the 4 x 400m mixed relay event at the Indian Ocean Island Games held in Madagascar. This victory marks the Maldives’ first-ever medal in the mixed relay category on the international stage.

The triumphant team, composed of Hassan Saaid, Aishath Himna Hassan, Hussain Riza, and Ziva Moosa, displayed exceptional teamwork and determination throughout the race. Their combined efforts led them to finish third in the race with an impressive time of 3 minutes, 33.86 seconds.

The gold medal in the mixed relay event was claimed by the host nation, Madagascar, with a remarkable finishing time of 3 minutes, 29.68 seconds. Reunion secured the second position, completing the race in 3 minutes, 30.33 seconds.

While the Maldives celebrated their bronze medal, the fourth place went to Mauritius, whose team completed the race in 3 minutes, 32 seconds. Mayotte secured the fifth position with a time of 3 minutes, 40 seconds, closely followed by Seychelles in sixth place, who finished the race in 3 minutes, 50 seconds.
